Hot Licks

Can I give my parakeets some ice cubes to lick/drink when it gets really hot?
It’s in the 90’s here and I was wondering if I can give my parakeets some ice to lick. It seems like it is a refreshing treat, but I am worrying that it might be unhealthy for them because of the extreme coldness of the ice, contrasting with the hot weather.
Any info/opinions?
Thanks!
Ofcourse you can! They actually love this! Just make sure that you wet the ice and make it smooth before giving it to them as their tongues might stick to it.
Another thing you can try is 100% pure frozen fruit juice in an ice rack. Just pour some in an ice tray and feeze it. Then offer it to them. It must be 100% pure fruit juice though, because other preservatives and harmful things are added to juices that arent 100% pure, and can make them sick. Try it! They go absolutely nuts for these on a hot day, and lick it all the time LOL.
I breed with alot of parrots and parakeets, and they all love the ice fruit blocks!
Hope this helps you and good luck! =]

While this is the first anthology to gather hits from the band’s entire career, it’s the early tunes t… |

Rid of Me $4.41 PJ Harvey’s second and most ferocious album finds her claiming images of sexuality, whether they’re of a “hysterical” female (the obsessive title track and the indelible accusation “you leave me dry”) or male “dominance” (“Man-Size,” which also appears in an atonal arrangement with a string sextet, and the feral rockabilly size-brag of “50-Ft Queenie”). Recorded to play up the stark dynamic contra… |
