What does Camping mean?
Camping is an outdoor recreational activity, which helps in developing a love for nature. Camping is a mean to live in outside with rare or least necessary things. Camps are organized by the youths to learn to work as Team Work and Self – Reliance. There are many activities which can be done while camping: hiking, fishing, climbing, Hill walking, white water kayaking, hiking, etc. camping can be from one day to 10 to 20 days, depending on the interest of the person. Camping is of different types; Mobile camping, Campgrounds and Commercial campsites, Specialized camping and Social camping.
Why camping in Manali
Camping is adventurous activity in the nature surrounded by green cedar forest and snow covered mountains offered by Manali. One should relax from the tired and hectic schedule of cities; Camping is the best way to relax. Camping give you living close to nature, cool breeze and a sound of flowing water of river Beas. These camps mainly run by the Youth Hostel Association of India.
Season
April to June and September to October are the best month for Kullu Manali camps. It is advisable to carry the warm clothes in the month of April and October.
Place of camping in Kullu Valley, Manali
In Manali, there are many camping sites from Kullu to Rohtang Pass. River side camp in Manali Raison 20 Kms before Manali, Forest camping in Manali Solang Valley, High altitude camping: Sarchu in Manali. Apart from that there are various camping grounds accessible from Manali including Malana, Pulga, Kheer Gangain in Kullu.
For those who haven’t experienced camping ever can enjoy luxury camping in the middle of the Apple Orchids in Solang Valley, Kothi and Manali camp.
Status of Camping
Camping is safe and under the guidance of professional. Regular facilities like best sanitation, toilets and hygienic kitchen conditions. One should carry woolen cloth, a good pair of shoes, moderate eatables and must go through a health checkup. The camps are water proof and safe.
Necessities while Camping
While during the camps, it is advisable to carry some basic equipment like, First Aid kit, Flashlight, Fire Starter, Ropes for clothes and shelter, Raincoat ( if camping during rainy time), Trash Bag, Cathole Trowel, Insect Repellent, Sunscreen, Personal Care products and towels, Water bottle etc.
